Julie Simpkins qualified as a Dental hygienist in 2001 within the Royal Navy, then as a Dental Therapist 2011 from Bristol dental school. Julie was Dental Hygienist of the year finalist 2018. holds qualifications in oral health promotion, diet and nutrition, and is a qualified smoking cessation councillor, Julie plans to begin her MSC in periodontal disease next year. Julie enjoys treating Nervous patients, has a keen interest in paediatric dentistry. She works alongside a periodontal specialist and is current with the latest periodontal and peri implantitis treatments, including guided biofilm removal. She is very proficient at both in chair and home tooth whitening treatments. In her spare time Julie volunteers with ‘Oral Health in Developing Countries’ visiting Nepal to help set up free dental clinics, in the UK Julie voluntarily visits schools providing dental health education. Animal conservation is a passion, Julie visits south Africa frequently to support a lion rehabilitation centre, Julie helps assist with dental treatments for lions, without which these lions may not be rereleased into the wild.
