About Cottage Dental Practice

Welcome to {my}dentist Kirkby Lonsdale. We are a long-established practice situated in the middle of the picturesque market town and we have been caring for our patients for over 30 years. We are a short walk to the well-known Devils Bridge, and are lucky enough to be in the middle of 2022’s winner of ‘Best places in the North West’. Both NHS and affordable private care is provided within the practice by our three friendly dentists. As well as routine treatments, the practice is also able to accept Private Oral Surgery referrals, and offer cosmetic treatments such as Airflow stain removal, and tooth whitening. Working alongside our clinicians, we have a team of qualified and dedicated Dental Nurses and Receptionists (some of which have worked in the practice for over 20 years!). Our team is developing skills and offering more treatment options than ever before and we hope to welcome you soon.

What our patients say

  • Google 5 out of 5

"Fabulous dentists. I had to go here as an emergency case and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. They have sorted out my bad tooth after it giving me gip for quite a few weeks. I'm not that keen going to have my teeth done but I never felt nervous or worried under their care. Absolutely top class. Thank you very much !"

  • Mrs.Nicola Hesketh Qualified from: BDS University of Wales 2008 Wales, 2008 GDC No: 153511
Nicola qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2008 with a first class degree. She returned to her native Cornwall where she completed vocational training in Truro. In 2010 Nicola volunteered for a dental charity expedition to Peru, where she helped deliver dentistry to remote communities in the Andes. This inspired an interest in oral surgery. Later in 2010 she joined the British Army and commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as a professionally qualified officer. She spent 4 years in the Army, during which time she took part in an exchange program with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and led the dental department of a very high readiness field hospital. After leaving the Army in 2012 Nicola moved to Lancashire where she has worked in a variety of private and NHS settings, recently completing an MSc in Oral Surgery at UCLan with Distinction. Nicola is a Tier 2 accredited oral surgery provider in South Lancashire and offers minor oral surgery on a private referrals basis at {my}dentist in Kirkby Lonsdale. Nicola lives in the countryside near Lancaster with her husband, 1 year old twin girls and two pampered (but usually mud-soaked) dogs.
