Recent research from mydentist highlights the shocking increase in kids’ sugar intake over the summer holidays, findings include:
- 66% of parents admit to finding it difficult avoiding sugary snacks for their child over the summer holidays
- Over half of parents admit their child consumes more sugary snacks over the summer holidays than outside of the summer holidays
- A third of parents are unaware how much sugar their child consumes on a daily basis
- 1 in 3 parents admit to never monitoring their child’s sugar intake
- 1 in 5 parents say they don’t know how to monitor their child’s sugar intake
- Over half of parents say that food labelling on children's snacks are misleading/need to be clearer
