All nominations that we receive for the Excellence Awards go through a multi-step judging process.
Firstly, all nominations are reviewed to make sure that they meet the criteria for each category. If your nomination doesn’t meet all of the mandatory criteria points, it will not be put forward to the judging panel.
The judging panel is made up of colleagues from within mydentist from a mix of clinical and non-clinical roles. Categories are split between multiple judges who read and score each nomination out of three;
1 - Meets some but not all criteria,
2 - meets all criteria and has some evidence and examples,
3 - Meets all criteria and provides several examples.
All judges return their scored nominations to the Communications team who collate all nominations and pass them on to an external judging panel who carry out a quality check against all scores and complete a final review of all nominations. This ensures that judging has been done fairly across all categories and give us the finalists for each category.
To avoid judging bias, judges only see the name of the individual along with the nomination wording and any supporting information such as case studies. Judges will not be given extra details such as the area, region, practice or Support Centre team that the nominee is part of unless it is mentioned within the body of the nomination.
