Recruiting dentists from across Europe

In the last year, our Overseas Resourcing Manager, Sam James, has been restless in his pursuit to meet Dentists wanting to move to the UK and work alongside mydentist. Sam has traveled a total 12,760 miles, spent 35 hours in the air and 29 nights in hotels across Europe. Over 160 Dentists attended our events resulting in some already starting in a mydentist practice in the UK.

Dr Andrei Patrascu, who attended our event in Romania in April 2018, started in one of our mydentist practices in December 2018 and is a great example of just how quickly the process can happen when you have the support from both Clinical and Operational teams working altogether better.

We spoke to Andrei about his experience at our Resourcing Event in Bucharest and joining the mydentist family.

Brilliant People with One Shared Goal

“I first heard about the event on LinkedIn. I saw an ad for the recruitment event that was being held in Bucharest and as I already had plans to leave for the UK I decided to give it a go and see what it will bring for me. I had never heard of mydentist before, it was all very new to me so I wanted to understand more about the company.

I was very impressed when I got to the hotel, I was easily guided to the conference room that was filled with mydentist posters and they had a video projector that played some useful and interesting presentations filled with all the basics I needed to know.

“I was welcomed by Sam James, the mydentist Resourcing Manager, who was a very positive and joyful man. Sam soon introduced me to Dr Lidia Rusu, a Romanian dentist who had been with mydentist and in the UK for 8 years. Lidia was very kind and answered all my questions which was easy as we were able to communicate in our native language if needed.

Over lunch I was able to meet and talk with other attendees from Romania, all wanting to pursue the same dream that I have”

There was an opportunity at a lovely Dental practice in Torquay where there was a Mentor that I could work with in order to receive my NHS performer number. I had an interview with Julie Cole, the Practice Manager and Jane Foggin, the Clinical Support Manager and I was thrilled to accept the role at mydentist as an Associate Dentist"
