Passing with flying colours during the pandemic
Sep 14, 2020, 23:00 PM
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every way of life in the past few months and that is certainly true of our student dental nurses.
The group of students who were due to sit their exams in April 2020 had to wait until July to complete them, 86% of the group passing! With the average pass rate in the dental market being around 77%, it’s brilliant to see so many passing, especially with the added pressure of completing their studies online through lockdown. They will now sit their practical exam during September.
In total, we have 660 students currently on the student dental nurse programme. In November 316 students will take their written exam, with 178 taking it in April 2021 and 49 in November 2021.
Mark Jones, Head of {my}dentist Academy said “It’s a massive achievement for those who passed the virtual written exam in July. Due to the pandemic, it is the first time the exam has been done on-line, so having to grapple with that and to be studying during this uncertain period shows a wonderful resilience from our students. I wish them the best of luck with their practical exam, which will also be undertaken in a virtual environment.”
The programme continues to achieve the best results in the dental market which is testament to our Academy team and the quality of our students.
